I actually found a big, affordable but powerful pen tablet – HUION Inspiroy H1060P.
For the consumer who wants to get started making digital art or the artist on a budget, this is a great option as it is durable, affordable, and backed by a well-known brand. At current price point, its pros greatly outweighs its flaws.
I bet you just can’t wait to know what it has in store. Press on to my in-depth review of the HUION H1060P to find out.
Unboxing

The H1060P tablet is Housed in a brightly designed box featuring HUION’s mascot character ‘Leon’.
Inside are the following goodies: the tablet, the digital pen (PW100), pen holder, 8 replacement nibs, Micro-USB to USB-A cable, A USB-A to USB-C adapter, and a Quick Start Guide.

Build Quality
The tablet Feels mostly sturdy. Flip it over and you’re presented with the four rubber feet in each corner.
The drawing/work area takes up 77% of the overall size of the tablet. There are 12 programmable keys on its left side and 16 soft keys on the top.
These help in the design and/or illustration process by having your most used/favourite keyboard combinations literally at your fingertips – these are fully customisable in the software.
Active area
The best part is it has a huge drawing space of 10 x 6.25 inches. Due to its large size I would recommend this tablet for anyone with a screen of 22“ and above.
In my experience, it’s a lot more comfortable to use this tablet than smaller ones because I don’t risk drawing a line so long that it goes off the active area and I don’t have to draw with my wrist anymore.
Portability
It’s a nice size tablet for your desk and also for your laptop bag should you need to take it with you between the home and office (or at least when we can do that again!).
Connection
The charging cable comes with a Micor-USB connector on the tablet side, and an USB-A connector to plug into whichever device you want to use for charging or using the tablet.
If you laptop or android phone has a modern usb-c Port, You can use the included USB-A to USB-C adpater.
Installing the Driver
As is common nowadays, no software/driver CD is provided in the box – you have to visit the HUION website and download and install the software before you plug the tablet in and start scribbling away.
The install was pretty smooth. I actually didn’t have to do anything except plugin the tablet, download and run the installation software.
The software is where you can ‘map’ your tablet to your screen(s), change the button settings, adjust pen pressure curve, and even change the color of the UI – they’ve thought of everything!
You can also rotate the active area 90 degrees, 180, and 270 degrees. This let’s you “switch” the tablet to left-handed mode at the 180 degrees option.
Personally i adjusted the drawing area of the tablet to be a bit smaller because it extends all the way to the very edge of the tablet when in full use, and i didn’t like my hand falling off the edge sometimes.
Even with the drawing area cropped a bit, its still plenty of work space, at least for me.
Stylus Pen
The PW100 stylus is nice, light and feels good to hold and use, especially with the rubber grip section around the buttons.
When not in use, you can insert the pen nib-down into the pen holder, or sideways dropping it onto the handy little ‘grooved’ top.
The pen is battery-free and no charging needed, so if you’re like me and get annoyed by the pen running out while you’re working, this is ideal!
In additiob, It supports 8192 levels of pressure sensitivity, 60° of tilt with a reported 300PPS report rate.
Drawing Experience

The tablet works well, I was able to quickly draw and paint a sketch with no issues at all. I experienced no noticeable lagging and enjoyed the whole drawing experience – i’ve tested this both in Krita, PS, SAI and CSP.
Lines tapered off nicely and the pen pressure worked effortlessly. It’s easily seen how you can achieve sweeping curves and varying pressures using the pen that you simply can’t achieve with a mouse.
Pen Nibs don’t wear down easily. I’ve used it for about a total of 6 months and I’m still using the same nib it came with. (I draw lightly tho)
The large surface area allows for big arm movements, which feels quite nice. The surface is smooth without being slippery.
The programmable keys don’t require too much pressure to be activated – my overused artist’s fingers are grateful for that!
